Cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, are among the most beautiful and virtuous written for this instrument. This Suite n. 1 in G major is one of the simplest and most played by cello players. Especially the famous Prelude is very also played with the guitar, both in G major, that is like the original, and in D major, which I think better exploit the expressive potential of the instrument, even if it is a little more difficult for the positions used.
